about
I decided to release another single since I'm impatient and want to share the album with you. Here's a description or disclaimer for this song. Please read before you listen. Thanks and Enjoy! This song was written about a certain individual that I, Dakota, had issues with. It in no way reflects my opinion about all members of the military. We have many friends and family members in all branches of the military and I appreciate the service and sacrifice all members of the military make, including the person this song is about. I don't however appreciate the megalomaniac attitude this individual has because he's a member of the military. Also, the vocals on the chorus are coming from our own drummer, Nate!!
lyrics
A hired gun
Killing for fun
Government hit man
Brainwashed in quicksand
Feeling so entitled
Dime store Christian with a bible
You think your skin is thicker
'cause of your bumper stickers
Mr. Military
You don't scare me
This is a story
About Mr. Pride & Glory
He wants to go to battle
Gave his baby a death rattle
He wants to go to war
Don't care what for
While he was counting up supplies
I was counting up his lies
Pretending to be brave
Uncle Sam's slave
Make your daddy proud
Don't let him know you're a coward
But I can smell the fear
Through your false exterior
Play football, fight fire
Have a family, join the choir
Midwest cliche
Of everything I hate
This is a story
About Mr. Pride & Glory
He wants to go to battle
Gave his babies a death rattle
He wants to go to war
Don't care what for
Brag about your lies
I see the truth in your eyes
Pull your noose to a cinch
They jump you flinch
This is a story
About Mr. Pride & Glory
He wants to go to battle
Gave his babies a death rattle
He wants to go to war
Don't care what for
